Our Story

R8 Engage started with something I learned very early in my career: Business is Personal.

After more than two decades leading teams across finance, retail and operations, founder Ally J. Taylor has seen businesses at their best, through periods of rapid growth and through some incredibly difficult challenges. One thing has remained consistent: Behind every result are People.

It became one of Ally's most-used sayings as a leader: People put numbers on reports, not the other way around.

That belief shaped the way she led. Before jumping to a solution, she asked questions. She wanted to know what was happening underneath the result. What was working? What wasn't? What motivated the people involved? What were they naturally good at? And what might everyone be missing?

R8 Engage grew from that approach.

Today, we bring together brand strategy and identity, marketing, media and public relations, operations and strategic leadership, and mentorship, career and purpose. They may seem like very different areas of work. To us, they're connected.

A great brand starts with understanding its story. Strong operations start with understanding the people doing the work. And helping someone figure out what's next starts with understanding who they are and what brought them here. The “R8” (rate) represents eight principles that guide our work: Respect, Results, Relationships, Rhythm, Reach, Reflection, Relevance and Resolve. It also speaks to what we want for every client, to raise their rate of success.

Based in Alberta, we work with businesses, founders, leaders and individuals. We don't come in assuming we already know the answer.
