My Story
Ally J. Taylor is the Founder and President of R8 Engage Consulting & Media, launched in 2023 as a way to bring more than 25 years of leadership, business and people-development experience beyond the borders of any one organization. Throughout her career, Ally has led teams and businesses across finance, retail and operations, with experience spanning strategy, sales, marketing, brand development, media, leadership and organizational change. She has become known for asking the questions that get beneath the numbers — looking beyond the immediate result to understand the people, experiences and patterns driving it.

Her approach is simple: understand the person first. What motivates them? What are they naturally good at? What has shaped where they are today? What may be getting in the way? And what might we be missing? That curiosity about people extends well beyond Ally’s corporate career. For more than two decades, she has also used conversation, history, lived experience, intuition, insight and cards as part of reflective readings. Rather than viewing that work as separate from consulting or mentorship, Ally sees a common thread: listening closely, understanding the story, recognizing patterns and helping people consider what may come next from a different perspective.

Today, through R8 Engage, Ally works with businesses, leaders and individuals across strategy, operations, brand development, marketing, leadership, career and purpose mentorship, personal development and reflective card readings. Based in Airdrie, Alberta, Ally is also a former contributing editor with airdrielife magazine. Writing gave her another way to explore something that has always been central to her work, people and their stories.
